Indonesia implements a number of employment, enterprise, and training programmes designed to contribute to employment generation. A knowledge gap exists on whether such schemes respond to the employment needs of the poorest families.

With support from the Australian Government (DFAT), the National Planning Development Agency (BAPPENAS) and MAHKOTA will host a one day learning event to bring together key stakeholders to discuss the current context of social protection and employment in Indonesia, including constraints and priorities in moving forward. Key findings and recommendations will be shared from a MAHKOTA commissioned study on livelihood opportunities for social protection beneficiaries in Indonesia.

The session titled the ‘Lessons Learnt from International Experts and Governments’ will discuss the lessons from global experiences in regard to designing and implementing productive inclusion/graduation programmes. Speakers from the Government of the Philippines, Government of Paraguay, Fundacion Capital (Colombia) and BRAC USA will share their insights. The session will be livestreamed on in English.
