Webinar Presentation - Experiences of Civil Society: One Kilo of Help (Mexico) & the Centre for Nutritional Recovery and Education (Brazil)

In this opening session of the Webinar Series on Early Childhood Development, One Kilo of Help from Mexico presented innovative solutions to reduce the prevalence of iron-deficiency anemia, as well as intervention strategies focused on highly vulnerable groups, work with community volunteers in counseling and raising awareness with respect to nurturing care and upbringing of infants. The Center for Nutritional Recovery and Education from Brazil presented its innovative methods and tools for the initiation of nutritious complementary feeding in the first months of life, as a means of preventing and combating malnutrition. These methods and tools were developed based on the needs of families and for the use of childcare advisors, to suggest dietary practices that can be easily adopted by families, considering their culture and food availability.
