OPINION: Instead of widening the scope of the ESI scheme –scheme that delivers a measure of protection against illnesses – the government is tightening the noose around it.

The entrenched insurance lobby, which has already made deep forays into the Indian healthcare industry in recent years, is now positioned to mount a serious assault on workers’ health.
