83,000 poor households to receive food assistance from WFP (COVID-19)

The World Food Programme (WFP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) will distribute milled rice and vegetable oil to vulnerable households in five provinces of Cambodia. Approximately 82,700 poor households adversely affected by COVID-19 crisis, will receive the assistance to be dispatched from June 30 to July 30. The provinces that the support will cover include Siem Reap, Pursat, Kampong Thom, Kampong Chhnang, and Oddar Meanchey. Due to school closure since mid-March, around 224,000 children in the target schools of WFP have not received any breakfast to support their nutrition that will subsequently help them with their study.
