Alejandro Grinspun

Social Development

Alejandro Grinspun is Senior Economist in the Social Protection team of FAO’s Economic and Social Development Stream. Alejandro joined FAO in 2017 from UNICEF, where he had led the work on social policy and child poverty in South Africa and Tanzania. Before working for UNICEF, he held various technical positions with UNDP, both in New York, Brazil and Mexico. In 2003, Alejandro was one of the founders of the IPC-IG, which was then called the International Poverty Centre. Alejandro graduated from the Universidad de Buenos Aires and from Columbia University, and has over the years written several publications on poverty, social protection and social policy.
